Although The Smartest Guys played a major role in highlighting the wrongdoing at Enron, Ive never taken delight in Skillings sentence. As the years have gone by, Ive increasingly felt like it was a waste. If we could have salvaged something good out of a sad story, it wasnt by having Skilling spend a chunk of his life in jail. Clearly, there needs to be some kind of punishment for white-collar criminals.
